Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot has ballooned to more than $1 billion.
“This is the largest Mega Millions jackpot. If you remember back in 2016 there was a Powerball jackpot that got somewhere near 1.5 billion. But once we start getting up in these numbers it’s exciting no matter what,” said the Minnesota Lottery’s Adam Prock.
Prock said ticket sales have been strong and, “Anytime that the jackpots get up there it increases awareness and people get excited about it. So, we do certainly see an increase in its sales. But we also like to say it only takes one ticket to win that big jackpot.”
While it’s fun to dream of winning the big jackpot, Prock reminds Minnesotans to play responsibly.
