The Greater Mankato Area United Way continues to work toward its goal of raising $2,000,050 to benefit area agencies.

CEO Barb Kaus said they have reached the 60 percent mark and, “That means we have $800,000 left to go by the end of December so we can start giving out the funding to these wonderful agencies.”

Kaus adds that there are several ways to give and, “If you want to call into the United Way at 345-4551 and donate however you want to do that. You can send a check in. You can do payroll deduction wat work – ask your payroll department or H.R. department to help you with that.”

Kaus said businesses can also schedule an employee rally to help raise the needed funds.

The funds will help support 53 programs in Blue Earth, Le Suer, Nicollet and Waseca Counties and Kaus said, “Basic needs, health, and education are the three pillars we focus on because you need those strong and sustainable in a community to keep it strong and balanced; so, think of United Way as a balancer.”
