South-central Minnesota is in the midst of another winter blast after light snow and freezing drizzle blanketed the area overnight.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Chanhassen say a blizzard warning will be in effect for the Mankato area from noon through midnight, and snowfall amounts of three to five inches are expected.

However, the wind is a bigger concern with this system and meteorologists say sustained winds of up to 30 miles per hour are expected with gusts as high as 45.

In addition, a wind chill advisory has been issued for tonight through Friday morning and values will range from 30 below to 35 below zero.
