A winter storm watch is in effect for parts of south-central Minnesota for late Monday through Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Chanhassen said the watch includes Blue Earth, Waseca, Steele, Martin, Faribault, and Freeborn Counties and snowfall accumulations in excess of 6 inches appear possible.
Forecasters added a period of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will also be possible on Monday as the precipitation is beginning.
Blowing snow and visibility reductions will also be possible on Tuesday as northwest winds increase.
On Sunday, 3.7″ of snow fell in Mankato, bringing the total for the month of February to 23.8″
