A strong voice for the LGBTQ community in Mankato has died. According to her Caring Bridge page, Jessica Flatequal passed away Tuesday morning after battling liver and kidney problems.
Flatequal is best known as a vocal advocate for LGBTQ rights and other causes throughout the Mankato area.
She also worked as the Director of Gender & Sexuality Programs at MSU. She was a leader for programs such as the LGBT Center, Women’s Center, and Violence Awareness and Response Program.
Flatequal was 46.
