If you’re sweating because you don’t have your income taxes finished yet, here’s news that will take at least some of the pressure off.

The Walz administration announced that taxpayers have an extra week — until April 22nd — to file their Minnesota income tax returns, if they’re in 64 counties affected by rapid snowmelt flooding or the winter storm that hammered the state last week. The extension also applies to the Prairie Island Indian Community, Red Lake Band of Chippewa and Upper Sioux Community. State officials emphasize the filing extension until April 22nd applies to state taxes only. It does include Minnesota business taxes. A complete list of counties where the extension applies, plus other information, is at minnesotanewsnetwork.com.
