A judge has rejected the Anoka-Hennepin School District’s request, meaning a lawsuit alleging discrimination against a transgender student moves forward. American Civil Liberties Union attorney David McKinney says the court essentially ruled the lawsuit…

…”that it wasn’t frivolous, that it wasn’t baseless, but there was some merit to the lawsuit.”

The suit alleges Anoka-Hennepin — Minnesota’s largest school district — barred the student from using the boys’ locker room, forcing him to use segregated changing facilities which resulted in bullying and threats against his family.   Anoka-Hennepin School District officials weren’t immediately reachable for comment.
