We now know more about what happened in a fatal crash near Sleepy Eye Sunday night.
The Patrol says the two people killed are 51-year-old Terry Besemer of New Ulm and 54-year-old Maricella De Leon of Hildago, Texas.
According to the report, Besemer failed to stop at a stop sign prior to crossing Highway 14. The vehicles collided in a broadside crash.
The Patrol says alcohol was detected in Besemer’s system.
An 8-year-old boy and a 64-year-old female in De Leon’s vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries. Three other passengers sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The Patrol says De Leon was not wearing a seat belt.
