As state lawmakers continue looking for a funding solution to lower insulin costs, a group of metro area high school students–who’ve studied the issue in a mock-Senate-type summer program–are set to present their findings at the State Capitol.
“I believe they’ll be calling for a special session, I believe they’ll be calling for a resolution to this, and I’m happy to support them in that. It’s really good when the young people catch on to some of these topics that are really so important and complex.”
Republican Senator Jim Abeler of Anoka says lawmakers are about 80-percent of the way toward reaching a bipartisan deal to help lower insulin costs. He’s calling on the governor and legislative leaders to come to the table to help broker a compromise that can pass.
