A Republican lawmaker had to change the location of his annual fundraiser twice last week in western Minnesota after a small group of protesters threatened the two host venues.   Representative Tim Miller of Prinsburg:

“They put pressure that’s putting it mildly. Put pressure on the winery for them to not allow me to have it there. And we mutually agreed to move aside from that. And I moved it to the American Legion in Montevideo. The same group of people felt emboldened enough to put pressure on the American Legion — again putting that lightly — again there were some harsh things said.”

Miller believes the protesters threatened the businesses because they disagree with calls to investigate Democratic U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar on tax and immigration fraud an campaign finance violations. The fundraiser did take place at a city park in Montevideo.
