MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Minnesota Jewish leaders are criticizing Israel’s decision to bar a visit by Democratic U.S. Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan over their support of a Palestinian-led boycott movement. Rep. Dean Phillips says it’s “counter to the very principles of a free and open society.” Steve Hunegs of the Jewish Community Relations Council says a visit would have allowed the congresswomen to “experience Israel in all of its complexity.”
