I know you likely have a busy weekend planned. You may be off to attend a football game, heading out hunting, or spending time with family, whatever you do be sure to take time and thank a veteran. Monday is Veteran’s Day. It’s the day set aside to honor those that have honored us. Regardless of your political affiliation, religious beliefs, or where you’re from, the United States is still the greatest nation on earth and still the home of the free “because” of the brave! Take time to thank a veteran for his or her service.

Many of us have family members that have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. My father was in the Navy and later served in Viet Nam training southern Viet Nam armed forces firefighting crews fight the nearly continuous fires that broke out in and around military bases and local communities. Wherever your friend or family member served, take a minute to say “thank you.” A tour of duty is a mission of sacrifice, not only for the service-member but for their families. Allow me to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to all of you that have served. God bless you and God bless the USA!
