Now that it’s past Thanksgiving and the calendar has turned to December I’m good with putting up the tree and decorating the house. Any earlier is “too early” for me but I’m good now. Do you decorate the outside of your house? If so, how many strands of lights go into your display? Do you go all “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” or keep things pretty basic? The picture in this post is from a house in Springfield, Missouri.
While visiting family over Thanksgiving weekend I had to cruise by and see what the owner came up with this year. For years this modest home in southeast Springfield has created nightly traffic jams as cars line the street to take in the display. Every year the owner creates a different display with a different theme. Not only is the home covered in lights, the display is syncretized with music that’s broadcast from his own tiny FM transmitter. There are four Christmas trees on the front of the house that sing along with the music. It’s amazing!
So how many lights are going on your place? Are you going “all-out”, going to “put up a few”, or none at all? And how many lights are “too many”?
