Monday was the 13th time in the last 15 days that the state recorded single-digit COVID-19 deaths. State epidemiologist Dr. Ruth Lynfield credits a variety of factors.

“There has been a lot of work done in long-term care facilities which is making a difference,” said Lynfield. “We’re also seeing younger people beat cases. They are less likely to see severe symptoms from the disease. There also have been a number of approaches that people have learned throughout the past few months on how to improve the care of patients.”

MDH reported three deaths on Monday, which was the lowest one-day total since April 13th.
