As expected Governor Tim Walz today (Wed) activated the Minnesota National Guard amid reports of possible armed protests at state capitol buildings, including Minnesota. The governor says what Minnesotans can expect to see…

“Appropriate presence of folks there to ensure that there are peaceful gatherings, to make sure that the intent to do damage to any of the buildings will not happen and that folks can go about doing their daily things without interference from those who choose to disrupt.”

Walz says officials are “tracking reports and monitoring the situation closely to enhance our response and change tactics as needed.” The governor is visiting American history monuments this week, calling for calm, civility and peace.
