(Des Moines, IA)  —  U.S. Cellular is advising customers in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois to power their phones off for four to five minutes, then turn them back on.  They say that should reset and reconnect the phones after a widespread outage in the Midwest Wednesday.  Cell phone service was out in the Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Quad Cities areas in Iowa, plus Minneapolis, Minnesota; Madison, Wisconsin; and Chicago, Illinois.  U.S. Cellular tweeted the phone reset advice Wednesday night for customers still having connection problems.
