Current and former Amazon employees tell their stories this afternoon (1230pm), following last week’s report that Amazon warehouse workers in Minnesota are more than twice as likely to be injured on the job as their counterparts in other warehouses.  State Representative Emma Greenman says:

“The workers that are making that happen, that have made it happen so that all of us can safely receive packages during this pandemic, those essential workers are the folks in these warehouses.”

Greenman has requested hearings when the legislature returns to Saint Paul in late January and the Minneapolis Democrat says she also plans to introduce proposed legislation.  C-E-O Jeff Bezos said earlier this year Amazon needs to “do a better job for our employees” and the company reiterated its goal to cut worker injuries 50 percent by 2025.  Critics say Amazon has broken its promise.
