The defense called former Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon to the stand today in the Kim Potter trial. The defense questioned Gannon about his conclusions after viewing footage from some body-worn cameras from the scene:

“Her conduct was consistent with her training at the Brooklyn Center Police Department?  when I viewed both camera angles and had all the data in front of me, I saw no violation. No violation of what? Of policy, procedure or law.”

Gannon released bodycam footage of the traffic stop shooting very soon after the incident, explaining it was an accidental discharge and that Potter meant to use her taser. Gannon and Potter resigned soon after.
