The 2021 Grammy Awards have announced the nominees and it has created quite the stir. Of course, there has been the usual debate over who was unfairly left out and who received their well-deserved nods from The Recording Academy. Additionally, there was been plenty of talk about history being made with this year’s nominees. In Country music, Mickey Guyton has made history for being the first Black woman to ever be nominated in the Best Country Solo Performance category. Additionally, Rock music has proven historic with its Best Rock Performance nominee list. For the first time ever, the award has a nominee list made up entirely of women or female-fronted bands. Hayley Williams, the singer of hit band Paramore and former Best Rock Song Grammy winner has taken to Twitter to express her excitement for the historic event.
this is what I love to see!!!!!!
and the fact that Big Thief is on this list is a massive moment for any up and coming rock bands/artists. it's not just about who plays the biggest shows, who has the hottest tiktok… it truly CAN be about the music & the heart. https://t.co/jvlWB8YFxC
