11/1/21 Entertainment News -- Alec Baldwin is addressing the accidental shooting on the set of the movie "Rust." Speaking to the paparazzi in Vermont over the weekend, Baldwin said he cannot make any comments on the shooting which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. He explained that's due to the ongoing investigation with the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department in New Mexico. John Hinckley Jr. tried to kill the President in 1981, reportedly to impress movie star Jodie Foster. Hinckley was obsessed with Foster and had written several love poems to the actress. The band Devo turned one of those Hinckley poems into a song called "I Desire," which appeared on the band's 1982 album, "Oh No! It's Devo." 10/26/21 Entertainment News -- The assistant director who handed the prop gun to Alec Baldwin last week before a fatal shooting was previously fired from a movie for a gun incident. CNN reports Dave Halls was working on the film "Freedom's Path" in 2019 when a gun "unexpectedly discharged," injuring a sound crew member and halting production of the movie. 10/25/21 Rock News -- The lead singer of the '60s pop group Jay and the Americans has passed away. Jay Black and his band had over 20 pop hits during the 1960s, including "This Magic Moment," "Walkin' in the Rain" and "Come a Little Bit Closer." In 1964, Jay and the Americans were the opening act for the Beatles on their first U.S. tour. His family says Jay Black died of pneumonia on Saturday. 10/25/21 Entertainment News -- The movie "Rust" is temporarily stopping production altogether after an onset incident killed one, and injured another. The Los Angeles Times reports the producers emailed crew members about the decision late Sunday night. Last week, Alec Baldwin's prop gun killed Halyna Hutchins and injured another while in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Producers said they are wrapping production at least until investigations are complete. 10/21/21 Rock News -- A Bob Dylan bootleg that's been circulating among fans for decades is now available on YouTube. "Honky Tonk Lagoon" was recorded with the Grateful Dead in 1987 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. Much to the surprise of Dylan fans, the recording surfaced unannounced on YouTube recently. In his new comedy special "The Closer" released by Netflix this month, Chappelle made jokes centered around transgender people. 10/19/21 Rock News -- An art tribute to singer Bob Dylan is on display at a school in northern Minnesota. The exhibit was unveiled this weekend outside Hibbing High School featuring the announcement of the Hibbing native receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016. There are also stainless-steel panels that contain the lyrics for more than 50 of Dylan's songs. -- Bruce Springsteen seems to be ready to get back on the road for some gigs.
