With just around a month until the election, Blue Earth County is seeing an increase in the number of absentee ballots cast. So far, around 1,000 ballots have been accepted. That’s the same amount of all of 2016.
Michael Stalberger is the director of taxpayer services for the county. He says there’s been a steady stream of voters either sending in ballots or coming to vote in person.
Statewide, more than 155,000 absentee ballots have been requested. That’s an increase of 204 percent compared to 2014.
