50 people have been charged for their involvement in the nationwide college admissions scam, but the number of people involved seems to be much higher.

The alleged ringleader of the $25 million scheme, William Rick Singer, is charged with racketeering, money laundering, conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Though the FBI’s “Operation Varsity Blues” named 50 people in the scandal yesterday, Singer told feds he’s actually assisted 761 students get into the college of their choice.

Singer told authorities he collected between $200,000 and $6.5 million from parents, depending on which school they wanted their kids to get into. Singer is facing up to 65 years in prison. (NBC News)
